Free tools for patent prosecutors
Deterministic utilities for everyday prosecution work — no account, no upload, no catch. Every rule and fee they apply is cited to its primary source and published on the page.
Patent Claim Proofreader
Paste a full claim set and get deterministic checks for antecedent basis, claim numbering, dependencies, 112(f) triggers, and indefinite terms — every finding cited to the MPEP or CFR — plus excess-claims fees at current USPTO rates.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.
Open the toolOffice Action Deadline Calculator
Response deadlines for every USPTO action type — with current 37 CFR 1.17(a) extension fees (effective January 19, 2025) by entity size, weekend and federal-holiday roll-forward, after-final advisory-action timing, and the 6-month statutory cap.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.

Both tools are deterministic: they apply published rules — MPEP 710 date arithmetic, the 37 CFR 1.16 and 1.17(a) fee schedules, MPEP 2173 antecedent-basis practice — that any practitioner can verify against the primary sources linked on each page. There is nothing to gate: no signup, no email capture, and both run entirely in your browser, so nothing you enter is uploaded or stored. Rules and fees were verified August 2026.
Sparlo’s paid product does the part that isn’t deterministic — office action analysis worked rejection by rejection against the examiner’s actual cited references, with every assertion cited. If the free tools earn your trust, the worked examples show what the full analysis looks like on real public cases.
The trial is self-serve — no demo call — and runs entirely on public documents.
